One of the strengths of the ModenaFiere exhibition centre is its strategic location with respect to the main communication arteries linking the North and South of Italy, such as the "Autosole" and "Brennero" motorways. In fact, it is located approximately 200 metres from the Modena Nord junction/toolgate. It is 20' far from Bologna Airport, 45’ far from Verona Airport and 1h 15’ far from Milan Linate Airport.

The total area of the exhibition centre amounts to 49,000 square metres, 22,345 of which covered and hosting modern pavilions of 7,650, 5,650 and 3,500 3500 metres square metres. The countless possibilities of using the other areas inside the pavilions make ModenaFiere the largest congress centre in the entire Modena area, also thanks to an extensive range of additional services. The various catering facilities include self-service restaurants, bars, snack bars, pizzerias and refreshment services. 6,000 parking spaces are located around the entire perimeter of the exhibition centre with areas reserved for exhibitors, fitters, visitors and guests. The indoor area comprises three pavilions connected by a functional service gallery with a pointed-cusp roof. This gallery houses the main logistic services of the exhibition centre and is connected to the entrance-ticket office area.

Each pavilion has a different size and each is able to operate independently of the others. Each features toilet and washing facilities, bars and catering outlets.

They are served by an innovative wireless system and a distribution network of various utilities (water - electricity - telephone) comprising underfloor modular ducting linking a network of derivation traps located at four metre intervals.

ModenaFiere also has a leading-edge photovoltaic plant which acts as a roof over the pedestrian path connecting the car park to the exhibition centre entrance. This is one of the first constructions of its kind to be installed inside an Italian exhibition centre.

The pavilions are illuminated by overhead fluorescent lights.

The air-conditioning facilities include a heating system connected to a natural gas-fired boiler in order to minimise environmental impact, a cooling system and a stale/fresh air exchange system.

The exhibition centre is protected by a computerised anti-intrusion system, a fire prevention system based on an alarm device which, by means of a system of smoke detectors, automatically closes the fire doors and activates a sprinkler system. The exhibition centre is also fitted with an ultrasound rodent and bird deterrent.

The exhibition area is served by three road entrances for service vehicles and exhibitors' goods vehicles.
The visitors' entrance comprises eight ticket offices and a large reception area which is flexible enough to cater for all types and numbers of visitors.
An additional entrance and control point can also be activated if necessary.
There are special areas for the event organisers, the press office, the general management of the exhibition centre, the technical department, the fire brigade, the municipal police and the companies that provide permanent maintenance and assistance to the exhibition centre.
